Project 365: Week 19

5/6/12: I ran my first 5K in a very, very long time (probably 10 years) last Sunday. It was supposed to be me and 4 of my friends, but due to injuries and some other circumstances, it ended up being just me and my friend Janine. It was a small race with not many runners, and we each ended up placing first in our age groups (a nice ego boost and a great way to get back in to racing!). As you can see, Natalie and Jenna loved our medals. Janine ran marathons before she had kids...wow! She also was in great shape for this 5K just 3 months after having her third child. So she is basically a super hero!

5/7/12: Dog pile!

5/8/12: It was a slow morning at Trader Joe's, so Natalie got to help use the register when we checked out. She loved it!

5/9/12: Someone loooooves strawberries! She can eat an astonishing amount of strawberries in one sitting. (And it was not planned for her to be wearing those pajamas for the picture).

5/10/12: When the cat's away, the mouse will play! Julia has control of all the toys (both big kid and baby) when Natalie is at school, and she knows it!

5/11/12: We went to a birthday party on Friday afternoon for a couple of Natalie's friends (Peter, who turned 4 last weekend, and his sister Juliette who turns 2 next month). Their mom never fails to plan an amazing, over-the-top (in a good way) themed birthday party. Last year was cowboy. This year was carnival! Complete with face painting, carnival games, popcorn and cotton candy, clown costumes to dress up in, and balloon animals.

5/12/12: Brad and Natalie went to a field near our house to try out the kite she got for her birthday for the first time. They managed to get it up in the air! I was nervous that the cheap Disney Princess kite wouldn't live up to the hype, but Natalie was not disappointed!

Our new meal of the week was crockpot pork carnitas. We had them wrapped in flour tortillas with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and avocado. They were yummy!

Loved the one where they're having some "sister fun".
