Fun at the Park

Playing together in the sand. Julia clearly does not have any problems getting dirty like Natalie did when she was little!

Sliding with Daddy...

...and Mommy!

Julia alllllmost fell asleep in the swing. Drool was dripping down to the ground and everything.

"What, me? Asleep in the swing? Nooooo..."

What a good big sister!

Project 365: Week 30

7/22/12: At Sadie's first birthday party. My friend Mindy had a couple bounce houses set up, and separately had cans of shaving cream for the kids to play with. Sean got the idea to take the shaving cream in the bounce house, and the rest is history! The kids had a blast, and thankfully everything could just be hosed down (children included)!

7/23/12: We went to see a juggling show at the library. They did all kinds of tricks including spinning plates on sticks. Natalie made her own setup when we got home. Pretty clever if you ask me!

7/25/12: We picked two of these containers of blackberries at the farm!

7/26/12: Homemade lemonade!

7/27/12: Julia was walking toward Natalie and fell tooth-first into her face. Poor Natalie cried but recovered quickly. The mark is pretty much gone already.

7/28/12: Julia has always hated shoes so I never really pushed her to wear them. But we went to the park on Saturday morning and she really needed something on her feet for walking around in the mulch. She stopped playing every once in a while to look down at her new footwear.

I took a bunch of pictures at the park, so I'll post some others soon.

Project 365: Week 29

7/16/12: Messy hair!

7/17/12: Day trip to the beach. I think we are overpackers? Actually, we parked a few blocks away and had to walk to the beach...so we loaded Julia + a ton of stuff in the stroller and carried the rest. And we used most of it, too!

7/17/12 (bonus picture!): Our beach bums. Julia LOVED the sand. She won the contest hands down for being the sandiest after our couple hours at the beach.

Also, because of this bonus picture, you are supposed to not notice that I am short a couple pictures this week :(

7/18/12: Lily not happy about making a trip to the vet. So the plane ride next month should be really fun!

7/19/12: Both girls entranced by these little spinning light up things my mom sent one time. Julia just learned to push the button this week, so she is constantly playing with these!

7/20/12: Julia is very in to trying to put stuff on herself...clothes, sunglasses, etc. Here she is doing her best with one of Natalie's headbands.

Big Smiles

I love picking up the camera and capturing a great picture like this! Natalie asked me to take their picture, so I knew she was in the mood to cooperate. The stars aligned and Julia actually looked and smiled too. This one will definitely be framed in our new house! Picture frames and other knick-knacks are already being packed up here. The 4 Smith girls (3 human + 1 furry) fly to Houston 6 weeks from yesterday! We are also making a road trip to Kentucky to visit Brad's extended family shortly before our big move, so we are planning to have everything but paper plates and toys pretty much packed up before then. Lots going on for us in the next couple of months, but so exciting!

Project 365: Week 28

Wow, this post is so late. Sorry!

7/8/12: Julia checking out Natalie's fancy shoes

7/9/12: She finished swim class and is so proud of her ribbon! (This was the only face I could convince her to make for the picture).

7/10/12: Double bath after an afternoon at the park.

7/11/12: Life must be rough...napping all day.

7/12/12: The hinge on the TV stand must taste really good.

7/13/12: Happy sisters!

7/14/12: Someone made themselves at home in the backyard.

Attention, please. I made a new meal this week! I made Cooking Light's Bombay Shrimp Curry with Coconut Rice. It was really good, and with a couple changes next time, we will like it even more!

Project 365: Week 27

7/1/12: Little baby Hoppy in our yard!

7/2/12: Natalie very impressively ate chicken and french fries with chopsticks! I cut everything into small bites and she went to town.

7/4/12: Julia discovering fun stuff in the pantry.

7/5/12: Julia LOVES to play peekaboo. Sometimes she covers her eyes to hide, but a lot of times she covers her ears instead. So funny, and we just play along.

7/6/12: Natalie likes to turn the pop-up tent on its side as use it as a "turtle shell." This was the first time Julia joined her in the turtle shell and Natalie thought it was great...twin turtles!

7/7/12: More pantry fun. Oops, I didn't realize she could reach that shelf...breadcrumbs everywhere!

Project 365: Week 26

Here we are...the halfway point of Project 365! I will admit that making sure I take a picture every day is way more of a challenge than I thought it would be. It has not at all turned in to me learning to use my camera better, but at least I am capturing some memories!

All the pictures from last Sunday, Julia's birthday, are in this post, so I'm not going to repost any of them here.

6/25/12: Gnawing on a plastic chicken leg...so ladylike.

6/26/12: Picking blueberries at Terhune. We have already gone through all of them and are going back for more later this week!

6/27/12: Julia vs. cherries. Julia won. I strip her down to her diaper when she eats cherries or berries...clearly, she is not a very neat eater!

6/28/12: Sister kisses!

6/29/12: Julia combing her hair post-bath.

6/30/12: Brad and Natalie washed the cars, and Natalie turned on him!
