Mousie: Day 4

On Monday morning we headed to Animal Kingdom Zoo in Bordentown, about 30 minutes from our house. It is a really cute little place...completely different from a big zoo like the Houston Zoo or Philadelphia Zoo. The Animal Kingdom Zoo is mostly monkeys (lots of different kinds), but they also have giraffes (nine of them!), camels, llamas, birds, ostriches, pot bellied pigs, a donkey and a few others. The best part about Animal Kingdom is that you can feed the animals! They sell bags of food at the front counter...popcorn, peanuts and Fruit Loops. Most of the monkeys' cages have PVC pipes that you drop food into and it chutes down into the cage. And these animals know what's coming when a human walks by! They sit at the bottom of the tube and catch the food when it comes out! It's so funny. There was one cage that was close enough to the fence that if the monkey reached and I reached, I could give it the food from my hand! Probably not suggested, but it was neat! Natalie tried too, but unfortunately her little arms still need to grow some more.




We also went to Trader Joe's, hit Cream King again for some afternoon ice cream, and went back to Terhune yet again to get some more squash, broccoli and corn. We sure are keeping Mousie busy!
