We are officially moving in less than 3 months, so it's time to start doing things in the area that we want to do before we leave! It's a shame we've lived here for almost 3 years and have done so little, but Brad has just been so busy with school, and by the time Natalie got old enough to enjoy some of the things, Julia was born. Anyway, this morning we went to
Grounds For Sculpture, a huge sculpture garden/park about 15 minutes from our house. It was so fun and we had perfect weather!
| Brad and Natalie exploring one of the first sculptures we came across. This was like a giant percussion instrument...there is a bucket of metal sticks and each metal piece makes a different (very loud) sound when you bang on it. |
| Natalie loved the "Princeton Tiger," although it was too hot for her to sit on for the picture. |
| Natalie's favorite sculpture :) |
| Someone send this guy to our house to do yardwork! (Yep, that's a sculpture. It was very realistic looking!) |
| Natalie loved looking at the map and declared herself the leader "since the one with the map should be in front." |
| Ever seen a white peacock? |
| Really neat! |
| And a more familiar looking blue and green one. There were a ton of these wandering around. They make a pretty loud squeaky/honky sound. I don't think I had heard one before! |
| Family picture in the mirror sculpture. |
| Love this shot...right as I snapped the picture, Natalie realized she was slipping down and started to panic. |
| Julia sat in the stroller the whole time we were there (about 2 hours). Getting her to sit happily in the stroller while shopping is a challenge, but she loves to walk around outside. So much to see! |
This was one of my favorite moments of the day. We were in a tree tunnel thing (which was so cool), and Natalie started doing a little dance. I got out the camera just in time and snapped several pictures in a row. Love how happy she was! (Sorry you have to scroll so much since they are not next to each other...I am a little too unmotivated to figure out how to do that right now) ;)
