This and That
There hasn't been much eventfulness here lately. Here are a few pictures that I've managed to take over the last week or so:

A couple of my friends and I took our kids to Animal Kingdom Zoo. This is the same place we went with my mom when she was in town. It is so much fun to feed the animals, but somehow the kids had the most fun riding the fake ones. Oh well!

Natalie LOVES pretending to be a baby. We cradle her in our arms and pretend we just brought her home from the hospital. She asks for a bottle and pretends to take a nap. She is so silly!

Natalie had her half-birthday last week! At about 10:00pm I realized I didn't take a picture of her like I did last year, so I went and snapped a shot while she was sleeping.

Last week I hosted a Mom's Night Out at my house in honor of two ladies in our mom's group who are currently battling breast cancer. Everyone wore pink and we had a great time showing our support! I have made some awesome friends through that group...don't know what I would do without them!

Houston
It's about time I got these pictures up! We had so much fun with friends and family during our two weeks in Houston. Can't wait until the next time we can go back!

Natalie watering the plants with Pop. It's very serious business, you know.

When we got to my parents' house for the first time, Madeline was still at work. When Madeline got home, Natalie did a dance of joy! It was so cute. She immediately brought her a book to read together.

My silly monkey...I mean elephant.

Playing is tiring!

Reading the funnies with Pop.

We spent a day up in The Woodlands with my aunt (mom's sister, Mandy), cousin (Mandy's daughter, Allison), and second cousin (Allison's daughter, Emma). At least I think she's my second cousin...we never can figure that one out :)

Natalie loved the pool!

Natalie loooooooves her cousin Jillian! She was Jillian's little shadow anytime they were at Mamaw and Papa's house at the same time. Since we've been home, there was one time Natalie really wanted to play with Jillian. When I explained that Jillian lives far away, she bawled. Luckily I had this picture printed and hung on the bulletin board in her room, so we looked at that and it helped ease the sadness a little bit.

Mamaw and Papa took Jillian and Natalie to the Children's Museum of Houston one afternoon. It is such a fun place!

Making sure the puppy is healthy in the vet office.

And of course a little grooming.

We also spent a day in Galveston with Mamaw, Papa, Betsy and Jillian. It took us a while to convince Natalie to step off the blanket on to the sand, but once she did she had fun. She was definitely more timid this year than she was last year at the beach!
There are so many things we did that I didn't get pictures of...a trip to the Houston Zoo with Mousie and Pop, seeing old playmates, and spending time at the park. Oh well!

Growing Up
Despite having lived in rural-ish New Jersey for almost a year, I still find myself stopping what I'm doing and watching out the window every time there are deer in our yard. I am such a city girl! I just find them so beautiful and fascinating. As tempting as it is to whip out the camera every single time one is in view, I resist. However, what I cannot resist is keeping tabs on the babies that were born in our backyard a few months ago! Mommy deer and her two babies come by at least weekly, so we really have been able to watch them grow up! I love it. I have to say that I'm actually a little surprised at how small they still are. Not sure what I was expecting, but they definitely still look very much like "babies." Cute!

And yeah, a post about our visit to Houston will come...eventually...

So You Think You Can Dance
We just got back home on Wednesday from a fantastic two week visit to Houston! I'm working on organizing the pictures and creating a blog post, but until then, I'll give you these gems.
Natalie loves dancing. What she loves even more is watching herself while she's dancing! Yesterday I caught her checking out her reflection in the trash can. What a ham!

Fashionista
Natalie has never really been super interested in what she wears. I pick something out and she lets me put it on her. Well, the fashion bug must have bit her overnight last night because today she was insistent on wearing this ensemble! A pink onesie (why do they even make onesies for 2.5 year olds?), her glittery tutu, her pink sneakers, and a blue hairbow. I have to admit...the fact that she was SO excited about it made the outfit a little more tolerable. I tried to convince her to change clothes when we needed to make a trip to Target, but that didn't go over well. I never thought I'd be "that mom" who takes her kid in public wearing some crazy outfit. But I decided I'd rather let her wear it than get in a fight over it...not worth it. We did get some giggles at Target though!
